Volvo P1800 1961 built by Jensen #2371

This is a very special car since it is one of the seven cars that were manufactured in an experiment color and there was only one car made in this dark blue metallic color. The car is a 1961 but was taken in traffic for the first time in Sweden on the 23rd of May in 1962. It has full documentation of ownership all the way back. It was sold new by the Volvo dealership Göinge bil in Hässleholm.
Also, the interior was specially made for this car from the factory in England.

The car has been restored from the ground up. It was used only until 1978 and then put away. There are  many new parts fitted on the car after the body work was finished.

Most of the bodypanels have been replaced and they all have a perfect fit.

All new glass
All chrome parts are new or re-chromed with triple plating and with a very high finish. Bumbers are coated and rustprotected on the back for a long lasting result.
New dashboards and headliner.
Engine was completely restored with new bearings and pistons. Then the head was refurbished and converted to led-free gasoline.
All locks are new
A new wiring loom
Exhaust system
Everything regarding the brakes is new. Lines, calipers, pads, hoses etc.
Everything regarding fuel. Carburators, fuelpump, lines etc.
Clutch cylinders
All rubber everywhere on the car.

The paint which was done about 20 years ago is still in very good condition. The car is super straight.

Dynamo and relay completly renewed. Also starter. The overhouled engine was put in our testbench for the fine tuning and when everything was running perfect it could join the car again.


Air intake and new wipers now in place. The car looks good with Minilites but the original wheels and the very special hubcaps are getting restored and is going back on the car.


The new brake parts are going back in to the car this week.


Small details are coming in place. Every singe electric wire and connection in the car is being replaced.
 

All new bushings and clamps in the front. And a picture of the rims back from renovation.


The rear bumpers properly adjusted and mounted. Coated on the back and rust protected with clear vax. The right Jensen license plate lights are now in place. That is a beautiful rear end! I have chosen a grill from a later car since i like it better. Original is restored and along with the car.


The interior for the Volvo is starting to come in place. The little tag from the Jensen factory was found inside the rear seat.
